Our Nate hand knit baby vest is the ideal all-season layering piece. With oversized arms that provide plenty of room for squirming, plus three buttons for a secure fit, this vest is perfect for all your little one's wriggly adventures!

The pattern includes details for knitting 0-6 months and 6-12 month sizes.

Yarn: Skeinz Flight Merino DK (or other DK / 8ply suitable to get tension)
Needle size: 4mm
Tension: 22st x 30 rows
Skill level: Intermediate

"Nate" is knit in one piece, from the bottom to armholes. From the armholes you will knit each panel separately and join up the shoulders with 3NBO.  A link to an instructional video is included. No sewing involved

Nate Vest

This is a super easy pattern to knit. I used some random double knitting wool instead of what was recommended (trying to use up my stash) and am pleased with the result. I knit for charity and can see this pattern becoming a favourite.

I am knitting 6-12 month size. At row 48 instructions are incorrect on my pattern. When I follow instructions I find that I should have 26 stitches for each front, not 26 one front and 25 the other and 51 for the back not 50. You need to amend row 48.

I enjoyed knitting this pattern and it turned out great. I even learnt to bind off at the shoulders.
